ドーリー フアシヨン (Dolly Fashion)

What is Dolly Fashion?

Dolly fashion is a contemporary Japanese street scene that is inspired by the Medieval European clothing style. It also branches from another Japanese street fashion called 森 ガール (Forest Girl). Click on Forest Girl link to re-direct you to different page.

What are the aspects of the style?

The essentials of the "Dolly" look include, but are not limited to:
1. plain colored and or flower print dresses.
2. plain colored and/ or printed leggings to match the color scheme of the outfit.
3. outerwear with either loose or tight-fitting sleeves
4. blouses that are either loose or tight-fitting, can also be with/ out puffed sleeves.
5. several kinds of jewelry that are preferably crosses, and/ or nature related things.
6. A furry accessory (whether it be a [faux] fur boa, or one of those furry Russian looking hats), and/ or a bow.
7. When it comes to shoes, you can wear anything that's classic-looking, vintage, or even simple.

What is the color scheme?

Dolly fashion usually consists of light, pastel colors to more dark and earthy toned colors. One of the more prevalent and popular hues are mauve and maroon. Many followers of this style are even seen with dark purple-ish and red hair dyes!

What are the most popular hairstyles of the Dolly fashion?

Many Dolly girls have straight, short or shoulder length hair (curled inward at the ends) with straight bangs cut above the eyes.

What kind of make up is used in the style?

Very light foudation is used for the face, rosy pink blush on the cheeks, black eyeliner, white eyeliner, black mascara, and any soft eye shadows are commonly used for make up in this fashion.
